


Crofton Village Information
Crofton is a busy community of approximately 7000 residents with plenty of diverse facilities within the village and surrounding areas.
There are medical services both GP and NHS dentist, a variety of schools and children’s clubs for all ages, range of shops and takeaways, post offices, hairdressers and barbers, garden centre, clothing store, funeral director, florist, recreational areas, pubs and coffee shop.
As a busy hub there is a good bus service out of the village to enable further connections to national railways and major West Yorkshire cities, including Leeds, Wakefield and Barnsley, and further afield to Doncaster and Sheffield.
As a community there are a good range of activities throughout the year for all age groups, including scouting, rugby, football, cricket, Darby & Joan, Community Library, Community Centre, children’s play area and skate park. Also church groups including a well attended Men’s Breakfast Group.
As part of Wonders of Wakefield (WoW) there are plenty of public footpaths and cycle routes direct from the village and surrounding areas. There is Coppers Lake and The Sidings within the village and The Heronry, Walton Colliery and Nostell Priory within walking distance of the village.
