General Information on HS2

Crofton is currently affected by the planned proposals for Phase 2B of the HS2 route between Manchester and Leeds. At the last public consultation meeting with HS2 representatives at Crofton Academy on 14 July 2018, it was confirmed that a planned depot for HS2 will now be situated at Leeds rather than New Crofton as previously proposed. Detailed plans were shown of the proposed route at that event. The next step is for HS2 to consult the public on social and environmental implications from this proposed route. Following this, the next step is for a bill to be presented to Parliament; this was originally planned to take place in 2019, however in September 2018 it has emerged this will be delayed for another year.
