S.106 funds
S.106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 provides money to the council from WMDC, who collect the funds from housebuilders building in the District. The money is collected centrally by WMDC from housebuilding projects District-wide, and councils are eligible for a proportion of this to spend on green space projects.
WMDC is however not obligated to distribute these funds to the parish council. The council has put pressure on WMDC to release funds for the benefit of the community, which we have recently achieved. As you can see from our most recent minutes we are in the process of deciding appropriate projects for the money, and obtaining quotes for projects in this regard.
